A few months ago, I watched the movie The Perfect Man. I had found the movie on Youtube and to avoid a copyright claim, the user who had uploaded the movie had made it so the voices were really high pitched. I didn’t mind because I had wanted to watch that movie again for a really long time.
Anyway, if you haven’t seen the movie before, you should. It’s really good. This is coming from the girl who is a big fan of most, if not all, Hilary Duff movies (see: The Lizzie McGuire movie- a classic really, A Cinderella Story, Raise Your Voice, etc.)
In the movie, Hilary Duff’s character has a blog that she uses to chronicle her nomadic life. Her and her family (her Mom and her sister) move around a lot. The movie was made in the early 2000’s and blogging was a lot different back then. I try not to think about how many people are reading these words right now (probably just a few) or how literally any person on the planet could stumble across this blog, if they had access to the internet and any electronic device..
But I think that the really cool thing about blogging is that it gives you the opportunity to connect with others and to share your own experiences.. I think it can be hard though to post freely and not worry about being judged or criticized for something you wrote.. but I think that as human beings, it’s hard to avoid criticism and judgment… almost impossible, actually. As Aristotle said, “To avoid criticism say nothing, do nothing, be nothing.”
